Patti DePompei assumed the role of President, University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and MacDonald Women’s Hospital in October 2012. 

Patti has held a variety of positions within health care over the past 20 years, including management positions in pediatric & neonatal intensive care and human resources.  Prior to assuming her role as President, Patti has served as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) & Vice President of Patient Care Operations since 2008, with overall responsibility for strategic management of all clinical operations and patient care services at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and MacDonald Women’s Hospital. 

Patti is a registered nurse, earning her bachelor's degree cum laude in Nursing from the University of Toledo/Medical College of Ohio, a Master’s in Nursing from Kent State University, and she completed the Executive Management Series in Health Care, Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School of Management. 

Patti was recently appointed to a 3-year term to the American Hospital Association Section for Maternal and Child Health Governing Council (2013-2015).  She has served in a number of local organizations including leader of the University Hospitals of Cleveland United Way campaigns, Greater Cleveland Health Care Cabinet Member for United Way, and Board Member of Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland.  She has been honored as the YWCA of Greater Cleveland “Woman of Professional Excellence,” 2010 American Red Cross Medical Hero of Greater Cleveland.  In 2011 she was awarded the Michael T. Gyves Prize for Excellence in Obstetrics and in 2013, Patti was honored at Women of Excellence, Cleveland Corporate Club.
